Just into the shop: this D2 from luthier Matthew Arcara of Portland, Maine! We sold this guitar originally, and are happy to have it back in very clean condition. This was our second available guitar to feature Matt's sunburst finish, and the first Brazilian Rosewood guitar of his we've had in several years. As looks go, this is a textbook herringbone dreadnought (think classic 28-style appointments); and as sound goes, it's about as powerful and balanced as a new guitar gets. It's woody, clear, and warm, with a great glassy high end and thick midrange making it perfectly suited to bluegrass. Outfitted with an adjustable truss rod, and PLEK'd at TJ Thompson's shop during final setup, this D2 would slot in nicely to the collection of a flatpicker looking for that modern D-28 style guitar that'll hang in a jam and sing sweetly when played solo.
