With fingerstyle guitar players in mind, Kevin Ryan combined his parlor-sized Abbey model with his inventive 10-string design -- the result is an extremely alluring little guitar featuring a standard scale length, for more volume than traditional parlor guitars, and the chime and voice of a traditional 12-string instrument.

Single B and E strings allow for clear treble melodies, while the G-string course is flipped, so the higher string is hit with an upstroke of a finger or pick. On the low E, A and D strings, you'll find a standard double course set-up, providing all the ringing shimmer you could want for strumming out those Byrds tunes. The bridge has six normal pins and four channels through which to pass the string courses (really clever!).

Most interestingly of all, Ryan has chosen an exceedingly light string gauge for this guitar, making the courses very playable for hammer-on & pull-off work. Beautiful, straight-grained  fIndian rosewood and bearclaw Sitka Spruce provide all the clarity and warmth needed, whether you're playing with bare fingers or a flatpick.
