Joe Cleary builds exquisite, sonorous mandolins that draw deeply on violin design and aesthetics. His use of overhung violin edges and deep, earthy colors visually distinguish his instruments, but ultimately the prize is in the tone. An engraved James tailpiece, Rubner tuners with ebony buttons, Campanella's signature bell headstock inlay in abalone, and an ebony pickguard complete the appointments.
