Dennis Fano, the lauded guitar designer/builder known for his Novo Guitars and Fano Guitars brands, has always wanted to make his guitars accessible to as many players as possible. In 2015 Dennis launched his import line of guitars, Rivolta, which exists under his lauded Novo Guitars. Every Rivolta gets inspected, setup, and shipped from the Novo factory/headquarters in Nashville, TN.

The Combinata is a no-nonsense, back to basics guitar in the spirit of a Les Paul Jr: solid mahogany body, set maple neck with a well-shaped, chunky C carve, single Rivolta "Novanta" P90 pickup, and compensated wraparound bridge, and a 25" scale. Fans of Dennis' work will note the cool twists he put on this style of guitar - namely the 25" scale length (LP Jr's are 24 3/4"), 24 frets, and maple neck/mahogany body combo.

These specs add up to a guitar with great P90 bite and chime. Played clean or overdriven - especially through a Class A amp - this guitar simply sounds fantastic. There's a great, very useable range in the volume and tone controls, allowing you to roll back either to control the amount of breakup you want from your amp.

Rivolta guitars have managed to produce an incredibly well-made, killer looking, resonant and soulful guitar at a very reasonable price point. Players looking for their first electric, a really cool single pickup guitar, a guitar for slide playing, Eb tuning, etc...would be wise to check the Combinata out. Color us very impressed! Priced with padded soft case.
