Nugget A Standard (1980)

This early Nugget A Standard mandolin would be a fantastic buy for a player who's been searching for that elusive warmth and woodiness of tone that have become the hallmarks of Nugget mandolins. Built in 1980, this mandolin (Nugget #52) was retopped by Mike Kemnitzer c. 2003. It's been played, though not abused, and remains in excellent condition. A strap button has been added to the neck heel, and there's a plugged strap button hole in the back from a previous installation. This is a very responsive and alive-feeling mandolin, with a sonorous, dry voice and that round tone on the treble strings that will make Dawg-style tremolo enthusiasts grin from ear to ear. Priced with a hard case, this mandolin is here on consignment. No trades, please.
