Lawrence Smart F5 (2003)

Description

Beautiful 2003 Lawrence Smart F5 mandolin just in for consignment! This instrument comes to us from its original owner, who has clearly enjoyed playing it these last 14 years. It sports some scattered finish wear ~ very minor, and purely cosmetic ~ but carries the big, wide open sound of a well broken-in instrument. Smart's well-earned reputation as a builder of first-class mandolins and archtops is evident in every detail of this beauty (as well as in its sound). This mandolin has a direct, woody sound, with plenty of volume and responsiveness (it's worth noting that it's X-braced). It'd be great for bluegrass but would suit nearly any style of traditional folk music. Engelmann Spruce top, figured Red Maple back & sides, Red Spruce brace wood, Varnish finish, ebony bridge & fingerboard, grained ivoroid binding, radiused fretboard & 1 1/8" nut width. Priced with Hiscox hard case. No trades, please.
