It's always a treat to have one of Kim Walker's guitars in the shop -- they're one of the rare flattop guitars that completely justify all the hype you've heard, and their sound leaves nothing to be desired. His Mahogany 000-18 style guitars are particularly memorable for their woody tone, immense projection and vintage-style responsiveness. This 1999 Style C remains in outstanding condition (some faint marks on the pickguard, but nothing to write home about in terms of blemishes or structural issues.) The setup and playability are outstanding as well; and the guitar's responsiveness is one of its most alluring qualities (the trebles strings have that great, fat "pop" found in a vintage guitar, and the entire instrument resonates like a rung bell). The voice is perfectly balanced, with clarity, warmth and power that would make vintage purists sit up and take note.
