Description

"The vision was clear—to build hand-crafted custom guitars with the best tone, looks and playability available, and to build them from the from the ground up, from original design and concept to full production of the necks and bodies." - Don Grosh

Without question, Don Grosh has delivered an absolute knock-out of a guitar with this NOS Hollow T. Light as air, incredibly beautiful, effortless playability, and stunning tones...there's a lot to love here for Tele diehards and newcomers alike.

Don and his small Colorado-based company consistently build flawless, incredibly resonant, forward-leaning guitars that have some of the best fret work you're likely to encounter. What's especially cool about this guitar is that while super easy to play, it responds really well to both light right hand picking and heavier strumming. While clearly in the Tele style, it has a touch of Les Paul Junior/Special in it due to the excellent sounding Grosh G90 pickups - meaning, it'll take a beating if you dig in. Very cool.

The neck is also a highlight. It's Don's "Medium/Large Roundback" carve which clocks in at .850"-.950". It's a chunky carve but masterfully shaped as to not be fatiguing. In truth, it's one of the nicest feeling necks we've played on a Grosh (and they are all fantastic). There's more figuring in the maple than usual, undoubtedly to meld well visually with the gorgeous flamed maple top. It's all in the details, right?

Plugged in, this NOS Hollow T sounds incredible. A touch of Tele twang and top end sparkle crossed with a signature midrange snarl and attitude that only a great P90 can deliver. Anything from clean chicken pickin' to full gain prog sounds awesome on this guitar (seriously). We were running country licks to Mission of Burma riffs on it, all equally satisfying.

A phenomenal guitar that would make a great intro to Don's work, or, confirm what Grosh players already know - Mr. Grosh is simply one of the best builders working today. Priced with hardshell case.
