Gibson Southern Jumbo Natural (1954)

Sold

Description

This rare factory-original natural finish Gibson Southern Jumbo is one of the best-sounding vintage guitars we've had in recent memory. It's loud as all get out, with a warm, round, full tone that's ideally suited to traditional country music, old-time fiddle backup and flatpicking. An early 1960's Martin pick guard was added to it long ago, but the rest of its structure is original and in great shape. Old repaired center seam crack, but otherwise crack free. 1 11/16" nut width and 24.9" SL, with a very comfortable, rounded, medium-depth neck carve. If you're in the market for an old Gibson dreadnought, this is a slam dunk; and it's a guitar that will hang with instruments ten years its senior. Priced with worn vintage case -- please inquire about case upgrades. On consignment -- no trades.
