Fairbanks Whyte Laydie (1908)

This 1908 Fairbanks Whyte Laydie #2 is just into the shop for consignment! It's just had the neck reset, and exhibits friendly action for playing old-time tunes and using it to accompany a vocal. When it's played in the latter fashion, especially with a rag or cloth in the pot, it's got a very Gillian-Welch style tone, with that classic, compressed Whyte Laydie brilliance right at your fingertips. Overall cosmetic condition is very clean -- the neck and fingerboard feel great and are free from any noteworthy blemishes. Priced with contemporary hard case -- this is a great option for the player who values old-world sound and craftsmanship above all else!
