Martin 0-15 75837 (1940)
Vintage
This 1940 Martin 0-15 remains in beautiful condition and sounds wonderful. The 0-15 was Martin's de facto "student" guitar for several decades. Featuring all-Mahogany construction, no binding, and a satin finish, the 0-15 was otherwise identical to the popular 0-17. This particular guitar sports a rare, but very cool, tortoiseshell celluloid headstock veneer (in place of the Brazilian Rosewood veneer that would've been on a style-17 guitar from the same era). The 0-15 has enjoyed popularity in recent years thanks to Kenneth Pattengale of The Milk Carton Kids, who capably proves these little guitars aren't just for fingerpicking while you're home alone -- they produce a particular midrange punch that's very useful in a duo setting as well.
The subject guitar is very clean and looks gorgeous in person. An old center seam separation has been glued and cleated internally. The bridge plate has been replaced as well. The work is clean & professional, and the new plate is correct in its makeup and footprint. Our shop has refretted the guitar, installed a new saddle, and given it a fresh setup.
Priced with a modern TKL hard case.
