In the first decade of the 20th century, the Vega company released their "Lute Mandolin " series of mandolin family instruments. This included mandolin, mandola, mando-cello, and mando-bass. The instruments in this series all have the Vega "patented semi-arched back construction" ,often called "cylinder back." This model 203 mandolin made in 1913 has a curly maple back and sides and red spruce top which has some pickwear on both sides of the fingerboard extension. The bridge is a delicate had carved, compensated replacement. Otherwise, the mandolin is in excellent original condition. Please note that at present we have both a mandola and mando-cello in this series.
