This rare Fairbanks Vega Whyte Laydie #2 serial # 25910 was originally sold by TME in the early"70s. It was traded in by Tommy Thompson of The Red Clay Ramblers. Then it was purchased by Doug Unger who made the ivory tailpiece rosette and the custom bridge. Eventually it made its way to the current consigner. The 26" scale and the 10-3/4" rim make this a powerful sounding banjo. The Fairbanks plate is missing, along with a chip from the 1st fret inlay and two small screw holes on the back of the peghead.
