Description

Collings' 10,000th guitar is here, in the form of an absolutely spectacular D-45 Brazilian. Collings pulled out all the stops for this historic guitar, selecting their finest of AAA-grade, classic, quartersawn Brazilian Rosewood, and pairing it with a silky Adirondack Spruce top. Grain in the Adi top works evenly from tighter in the bookmatched center of the instrument, out to slightly wider grain at the guitar's periphery. These premium materials, in the most skilled of hands, yield a guitar of sublime tone. Powerful, focused, driving low end works consonantly up into colorful, yet tempered mids, and finally into a clear, articulate upper register. If there is ever a maker to step up to the plate when it counts, it is Collings.

The detail work throughout really shows off impeccable workmanship; note the quality and color match of the abalone purfling, front and back. Other notables include: gold, engraved Waverly tuners, 1-11/16" nut, ivoroid-bound headstock, fingerboard and body, "45-style" snowflake fingerboard inlay. Please enjoy the photos. More are available on Collings' website.

There can only be one Brazilian 45-style Collings of this caliber, serial #10,000. We thank Collings for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to offer you this amazing, historic, inspiring instrument.
