There are damn few builders out there who can do with wood what Ed Claxton does. Each of his guitars is a tonal wonder; powerful, lush, consistently balanced at each point on the fretboard. I've heard them played by accomplished finger stylists and flat pickers with the same success. Players shake their head in wonder at the tremendous response as if to say "how does he do it?" The answer is years and years of patient experimentation as well as handling, repairing, and restoring the best guitars ever built. Ed has 30 plus years under his belt and although we'd like to say he's reached his pinnacle, there's no saying where his next guitar will take you.
Although this EM is a couple of years old, it shows very few signs of wear. I would call it pristine. The Brazilian is sublime--old growth, beautifully quartersawn with striking highlights.
