Description

A few years back, Frankie Montuoro had the privilege of restoring a mid 30's Stahl OM that belonged for a short while to master fingerstylist, Robert Bowlin, who recorded with them for a spell. Had he been in a position to actually purchase the guitar he would have, claiming it to be the greatest instrument he had ever played. Frankie set out to rival that guitar in this modern incarnation. With specs and tolerances painstakingly gleaned from his handling of the original Stahl, this OM remarkably captures the essence of its predecessor. It's truly as if the clock were set back 75 years. Such a woodiness to the tone, up and down the neck; robust; loud when you want it to be, but always refined and balanced. You'll find a keen desire to break out all your ragtime favorites on this one, but don't be afraid to throw in some more modern pieces. This magical OM will burnish them to a warm, vintage sheen.
