The Collings Eastside Deluxe LC Prototype is back in the TME showroom, its original owner having obtained a high-profile (and extremely high-volume) gig that necessitated the bite of an I-35 Deluxe. But the Eastside Prototype remained a recording guitar and never left the studio. It's still in mint condition and plays like a dream. These guitars are becoming very hot commodities; and this is an extremely rare chance to own the first one ever produced (at an attractive discount, nonetheless). Sobell Cittern Cedar/Cocobolo (1982)

This is a beautiful Cittern from renowned UK builder Stefan Sobell. Stefan has been building for going on 40 plus years and his instruments are rare and coveted treasures among acoustic players of all stripes. This gorgeously constructed and terrific sounding cittern mandolin has all the resonance and presence one could hope for. It is equally at home with vigorous strumming or delicately picked single notes, and is in amazing condition given that it is over twenty years old. Great as a solo instrument or for adding texture to an ensemble or recording, this is one exceptional Ciittern.

Martin OM-28 (1932)

This is a wonderful player's Martin OM-28 made in 1932. It's had several fairly common repairs in it's time: it was professionally refinished long ago; the bridge and bridgeplate have been replaced (the plate is oversized and made of maple); one crack in the top behind the bridge was expertly repaired before the refinish; and the tuners are newer Waverlies. There's been a recent neck set, and the setup is perfect. All other parts of the guitar are original (including the bar frets), and there are no other cracks. As you'd expect, the old-growth Brazilian Rosewood is impeccably quarter-sawn and dead-straight in figure.

It's got the incredible, singing tone players lusting after a pre-war OM-28 dream of, in addition to a boatload of power. Several shop goers have heard us picking it and remarked "Who needs a dreadnought after THAT!" The tone is woody and sparkly, with a thick & lush midrangey chime. Seductive good looks and playability. A "Robin's-Egg blue" Calton Case is included with the guitar.

Asher Electro Hawaiian Model 1 Lap Steel Superior Maple

Bill Asher's Lap Steels are in a leauge of the thier own, never dissapointing in depth or versatility. His design manages to connect the world of acoustic weissenborns to the electric lap steel in a papable and mesmerizing way. These guitars respond much like you would expect an acoustic instrument to, with woody tone and depth that defies the expectations set by those old slab-of-wood lap steels. But that certainly doesn't mean that it lacks bite or electric presence. Simply put, we've never heard another lap steel that is on this level.

The Asher aesthetic is pretty hard to beat also. All of his instruments stunners, but this brings the eye-candy factor to the max. The three-dimensional figure in the maple top of this instrument will make you glad it's so easy to look down at while playing.

The guitar was purchased through our store four years ago, and resided in a well-kept home studio. Merrill C-28 Cocobolo (2010)

The Merrill C-28 Cocobolo is undoubtedly the most sought-after dreadnought in our shop these days; and this is an incredibly rare opportunity to acquire a used one. Jim Merrill's Cocobolo guitars compare very favorably to his Brazilians--the voice is a bit drier, with less overtones, but the woody thump is all there. The bass in this guitar will nearly knock you off a stool. The mids are thick and full, and the trebles have a round, broken-in quality with tons of ringing sustain all the way up the fretboard. This guitar is in excellent condition--there are several very slight scratches on the back, and nearly invisible signs of pick wear on the top (all of these are very hard to see with the naked eye). It has a very comfortable, low-profile neck and is perfectly set up for flatpicking. Priced with a Cedar Creek hard case.

Burgin Weissenborn Mahogany Rope binding

Paddy Burgin builds a handful of Weissenborn guitars in his New Zealand shop and we're proud to be his only US dealer. Favored by David Lindley and featured in Fretboard Journal, these guitars have been hard to keep in stock. This rope-bound mahogany is the first we've been able to showcase in quite some time, and it sold within a day of us mentioning it on the website. We do have another instrument expected from Paddy within the year, please contact us if you are interested.

Burgin makes a deeper-than-standard Weissenborn-style lap acoustic, tuned to open D, or Dobro's G tuning, or any wild derivative thereof. Sonically it is very impressive. The deeper body means that the guitar has serious internal air volume, and just pushes single note lines in a throaty, resonant way. Perhaps most notable: the guitar gets louder and better as you slide up the neck, usually where most warm, woody Weissenborns get weak. Most delightful for slide players!!

Carr Rambler 1x12 Combo, Wine

One of Steve Carr's original models, the Rambler was designed to deliver a classic American 'deluxe' tone, and boy does it ever! There are several things that set this amp apart. It has a Pentode-Triode power switch, which effectively steps the power down from 28 watts pentode to 14 watts triode. These two different operation settings for the 6L6 output tubes can vary the tone from loud and punchy (Pentode) to a warmer vintage sound with thick midrange (Triode). There is a wonderful late 50s style tube tremolo that is smoother than average. However, what really sets this amp apart is the rich, complex tone it produces. Imagine the best deluxe you've ever heard, and then add in a whole new dimension of warmth with full, round overtones that sparkle and bloom in the most mesmerizing way possible. It's that good.

Bourgeois Country Boy

We've taken the standard Bourgeois Country Boy and upgraded it with an Adirondack Spruce top, giving it tons of snap and dry power. This is a very light, woody-sounding guitar, with terrific punch for lead flatpicking. Great dynamic response across the whole neck--it excels when driven hard with a heavy pick.
